The Foothill city of Arcadia is couched between Pasadena and Monrovia, and gives access to the trailheads of some excellent bike trails in the San Gabriel Mountains as well as river bikeways all the way to Seal Beach. Local attractions are also very worthwhile to visit and are "bike friendly".
