Armor

This sermon is about the Christian commandment to use armor for protection. Why would a Christian require any type of “armor”; if so, protecting what? _____________________________________________ Romans 13:12 “The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.” - Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” _____________________________________________ DEFINITION: (Strong's concordance Greek dictionary number) Wiles: G3180 Methodeia – (n) scheming, craftiness, strategy; lie in wait Wrestle: G1510 + G3823 (to presently struggle) Eimi – (v) to be, exist, be present + Pale – (n) struggle; wrestle Principalities: G746 Arche – (n) beginning, origin, first; ruler, power, authority; position of authority, domain; magistrates; first estate _____________________________________________ Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” *(enemies defined) - Ephesians 6:13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:14 “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;” Ephesians 6:15 “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” Ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” _____________________________________________ *The enemies deploy an unlimited supply of fiery darts; meaning every conceptional device is used during battles!
