Now that the storm has passed and the sleet has finally finished falling, it’s time to check on our minis and begin to assess the various needs around the farm. With a 6-8 inch blanket of solid sleet covering everything, it’s time to start clearing off the black mats in front of the barn, shovel paths for the wheelbarrow to pass, as well as work to solidify our new feeding routines which have all been impacted by these new icy conditions. After today’s moderate temperatures and a touch of melting, we will need to be mindful of overnight refreeze as temperatures begin to approach single digits.
