A detailed description of the operation of a prototype automatic 2-aspect DCC signal. All operations and set-ups are carried out using DCC commands. The train is detected with a light dependent resistor. The detection trip threshold is continuously and automatically adjusted to the current ambient light. The system is operated by a PIC 12F683 microcontroller.
