Opening Spring 2025, the BEACONS Battery Prototype Facility is a key marker in national progress to fast-track energy storage innovation and close key supply chain gaps. Our facility will be open to start-up companies and commercialization projects to accelerate the development of next-generation battery technologies, ensuring these become ready for the market. The facility features 15,000 SF of dedicated space with a 3,500 SF Dry Room ≤1% RH, including 400 SF Solid Electrolyte Room ≤0.25% RH.
Funded by the Department of Defense’s Office of Industrial Base Policy and its Manufacturing Capability Expansion and Investment Prioritization (MCEIP) office, BEACONS and its prototype plays a key role in the Pathfinder program, accelerating the adoption of new technologies, onshore manufacturing capabilities, and workforce readiness to strengthen America’s energy leadership.
