This follows a long process that spanned my work. When I was lost as a young person I pivoted from my friend Bruce Cook III who gave me a foundation to work on canoes with my Uncle Jerry. It all came from the love of my grandmother Jane Wright. There was a time that people said Coast Salish art was nothing, our people were nothing.
I documented this process as it was done over 2020. It is now on the wall at the EQC hotel lobby. I wanted to include the last statement from George David (Nuu-chah-nulth) because I never got a chance to thank him for taking the time to be a teacher along side Greg Colfax in Neah Bay and years after when I didn't see him often but still appreciated his guidance from my early beginnings.
