TraffiSense AI is a real-time AI-powered traffic prediction and smart route planning platform. The system predicts congestion up to 60 minutes in advance using an XGBoost machine learning model trained on traffic, weather, accident, event, and public transport data. Unlike traditional navigation systems that react after congestion occurs, TraffiSense AI provides predictive intelligence for smarter commuting decisions. The platform includes a live congestion heatmap, AI-based smart route planner, emergency vehicle routing, weather integration, live alerts, and an AI chatbot powered by LLaMA 3.3 70B via Groq API. The frontend is developed using React.js and Leaflet.js, while Flask handles backend APIs and ML inference. External services such as OpenStreetMap (OSRM), Open-Meteo API, and CARTO map tiles enable real-time routing, weather analysis, and interactive visualization. Key outputs include congestion forecasting, optimized route recommendations, emergency routing assistance, high-risk zone detection, and live traffic alerts for improved urban mobility and smart city integration.
