In this video, we break down the brand-new Version 22 pre-beta firmware that is dramatically improving autofocus performance - and it’s not even publicly released yet. Early testing shows it outperforming much of the current market, with major stability and tracking upgrades that filmmakers have been waiting for. I'll be outlining the three major developer notes for fixes in this firmware version. These improvements are especially impactful in high-movement environments like live performances, events, and multi-subject scenes where reliable face tracking is critical. However, there’s a catch: this firmware is currently available only for the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K.
