This is the first test run of an industrial vibration motor mounted to the hopper of my blasting cabinet to help keep the media flowing.
This is a 30W motor, the smallest I could readily find on the market. I wasn't sure what to expect, but clearly it has a LOT of excess power for this application. Fortunately with the eccentric weights adjusted to the lowest setting it seems to yield a decent level of vibration that isn't threatening to tear the cabinet apart, and I can always add an inline variable speed control.
It remains to be seen how long the mounting screws will stay in place under vibration, even with red loctite...
