Breaking Down SOR- Part 1, The Reader 📚

The Science of Reading is all abuzz these days. But what is SOR and how can you use it in your classroom? The Science of Reading is a field of research that has identified the essential components of reading instruction. One of these components is the reader element, which refers to the reader's own skills and abilities that contribute to their reading success. In this video I break down the six components of what involves the first element of SOR, the reader. From mental processing to prior knowledge there are several important elements that make up what every teacher needs to consider when instructing students and teaching reading comprehension.
