This clip is from a fight between Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs. Royval 2. On the feet Ortega wants to work at clinch range, to nullify Rodriguez's strikes. To set this up, Ortega pressures forward with the intention of baiting strikes from Yair. As Yair strikes, the space/opportunity to close the distance and win inside position is created. Using the cage to pin Yairs upper body, allows him to begin working for trips at the lower body. Once on the mat, Ortega is heavy on the sprawl and cross face to minimise Yair's ability to move. Also limiting his options, making his movements more predictable. Ortega is able to gain the head and arm, switching his grip to a RNC configuration as Yair attempts to bridge and turn.
