Brompton Cemetery London
Brompton Cemetery is situated in West Brompton, close to Earls Court, in London. It is one of the 7 Magnificent Cemeteries of London, which are a ring of spectacular Victorian privately owned cemeteries built to ease the overcrowding from inner city churchyards. The main difference from this and the other Magnificent Cemeteries is that this location is less overgrown and the vegetation is better managed. The main roadway through the cemetery between Old Brompton Road and Fulham Road is a busy thoroughfare for speeding cyclists, joggers and walkers. Even though it is situated within a bustling area of London, the traffic noise can disappear and it is quiet and pleasant walk. That serenity can be broken from the roar of the crowd from the nearby Stamford Bridge football ground, home of Chealsea FC, when a game is on.
