Catching Floats

In fair isle knitting, also called stranded colorwork knitting, it is essential to catch your floats or the yarn color that is not currently used on the back of your work. This is true when you are working rows or rounds with two or more colors and the number of stitches in between colors get too many, causing lengths of unused strands that can get snagged or caught up while knitting or even using your finished handmade. This tutorial shows you a good technique in catching these floats. A good rule of thumb to catch floats is the "1 inch rule". In this particular video, I am using a super bulky yarn so I like tucking in the strands after 2 stitches. This tutorial is also part of my Americana Knit Beanies Pattern tutorials.
