CHI 2027 Teaser
The ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems is the leading international conference on Human-Computer Interaction. CHI 2027 will take place in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh, USA. The 140,000 m² (1.5M square foot) facility was the first LEED-certified convention center in North America and the largest green building in the world when it opened in 2003. CHI 2027 embraces the theme of Bridges, inspired by Pittsburgh’s iconic yellow bridges and by CHI’s enduring role in connecting people and technology. In today’s world, we face profound challenges that require connections across many divides: between disciplines, between research and practice, between technical innovation and human values, and between the communities we serve and the systems we create. Bridges are not only structures that link places; they are acts of intention, built to span distance, enable exchange, and bring people together. The CHI community is itself a network of bridges, made up of people with many perspectives, talents, and aspirations. We come from different disciplines, cultures, and walks of life, yet we are united by a shared commitment to shaping technology that supports human flourishing. By building bridges across methods, communities, and ideas, we can become greater than the sum of our individual efforts and offer unique contributions to the difficult challenges ahead. Just as Pittsburgh’s bridges connect its neighborhoods across three rivers, CHI 2027 invites us to connect across boundaries and create new pathways forward together.
