Recipe
4 medium eggs
350g/ 1 1/2 cups + 2 tbsp of white granulated sugar
250g/ 2 cups + 1tbsp of plain/all purpose flour
60g/ 1/2 a cup + 1 tbsp of cocoa powder (100%)
2 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp of salt
240ml/ 1 cup of regular milk
115ml/ 1/2 cup of oil or melted butter
1 tsp of vanilla essence
For this you will need two 20cm/8 inch round cake pans. This will give you 4 sponge layers for a cake once you cut them
The tins I use are around 8cm high. You can also bake four individual sponges instead in low cake pans if you want
Bake at 180C for around 30 minutes
