Cleated conveyor belts have raised ridges (cleats) that help transport materials up steep inclines and prevent sliding. They are widely used in industries like agriculture, mining, and manufacturing for moving bulk goods such as grains and ores.
However, these belts come with challenges. Cleats increase wear and tear, require more maintenance, and can cause alignment issues. Their rigid structure limits flexibility, leading to higher energy consumption and specialized installation or repairs. Additionally, debris can get trapped between cleats, making cleaning difficult.
