🚧 Confined Space Entry – Safety Precautions 1️⃣ Identify the Confined Space Tanks, pits, sewers, manholes, silos, pipelines, etc. Check if it has limited entry/exit and poor ventilation. 2️⃣ Permit to Work System Always use a Confined Space Entry Permit. Permit must mention: Hazards Gas test results Authorized persons Rescue plan 3️⃣ Atmosphere Testing Test before and during entry for: Oxygen (19.5% – 23.5%) Flammable gases Toxic gases (H₂S, CO, etc.) 4️⃣ Ventilation Provide forced air ventilation. Continue ventilation during the entire work. 5️⃣ Isolation of Energy Sources Lockout & Tagout of: Electrical Mechanical Chemical Hydraulic systems 6️⃣ Use of PPE Helmet, gloves, safety shoes Gas detector Respiratory protection (SCBA if required) Safety harness & lifeline 7️⃣ Standby Person / Attendant A trained person must stay outside the confined space. Maintain continuous communication. 8️⃣ Rescue Plan Ready Rescue equipment available: Tripod Winch Stretcher Never allow untrained rescue. 9️⃣ Training & Authorization Only trained and authorized workers allowed.
