Cosmic Amnesia
Lyrics inspired by verse 2 of the Shimmering Void Sutra: 2. The Great Remembering Verse: The universe awakens in form and formlessness—quarks and questions, galaxies and glances. The One plays at being many, forgetting itself only to remember again, in your heart, in this breath. Commentary: THE COSMIC HIDE-AND-SEEK The universe is a seamless continuum where the physical and the spiritual are one—where the smallestsubatomic particle and the deepest philosophical inquiry are woven from the same light. This is the great play of consciousness, an elaborate game of hide-and-seek where the One deliberately forgets its unity to experience the thrill of being many. We often feel lost in the complexity of our lives, yet every time we take a conscious breath or feel a surge of love in our hearts, the universe is remembering itself through us. This remembering is not a dry intellectual fact but a warm, intimate homecoming. It is the moment the cosmic amnesia breaks, and you realize that you have never been separate from the source you were seeking. The lyrics: [Verse 1] Awakening in form, awakening in void The fabric of the stars, the matter we employed From the spin of a quark to the weight of a doubt The universe is breathing, in and then out [Chorus] The One plays the many, the many are One The dance of the galaxies has only begun Forgetting the source just to find it again In the pulse of the heart, in the world without end [Verse 2] A glance in the mirror, a light in the eye A question that echoes across the deep sky The manifold opens, the mystery is clear The galaxy’s distant, the galaxy’s here [Bridge] In the space between thoughts, in the silence of breath The life that is living, the end of all death Remembering now, what was always the truth The ancient of days and the fire of youth [Chorus] The One plays the many, the many are One The dance of the galaxies has only begun Forgetting the source just to find it again In the pulse of the heart, in the world without end [Outro] In your heart In this breath One and the many [Fade out] The style: 60s psychedelic raga rock, sitar, tambura drone, eastern scales, fuzz guitar, swirling Farfisa organ, ethereal, tape delay, reverse reverb, dreamy vocals with ADT, haunting atmosphere, mid-tempo, 1967.
