Crochet Strawberry Tutorial
Strawberry Keychain This is an intermediate level pattern. Please see the video tutorial if you do not already know how to do the puff stitch. Terms/stitches to know Magic ring/mr Chain/ch Puff stitch* Slip stitch Half double crochet/hdc Single crochet/sc Increase/inc Decrease/Dec *For this pattern a puff stitch is going to consist of 4 incomplete half double crochets joined together. The breakdown is as follows: (yarn over, go into the space, yarn over, pull up a loop) repeated 4 times, when you have 9 loops on your hook, yarn over an pull through all 9 loops, chain 1 Materials Scissors Darning needle Two colors of size 4 yarn, one for berry and one for leafs Small amount of poly fil Optional Keychain hook 3.5 mm crochet hook Starting in strawberry color Create a magic ring and chain 1 R1: 4 puff stitch, slip stitch to the first puff stitch and chain 1 R2: inc 4 times by placing two puff stitches in the spaces in between the puff stitches of the previous round, slip stitch to the first puff stitch and ch 1 = 8 puff stitch R3: (place one puff stitch in the first space, and inc in the next space) x 6 = 12 puff stitches R4: (Dec by doing one puff stitch through two spaces) x 6 = 6 puff stitch Stuff your strawberry Use a darning needle to cinch the hole closed Weave in your ends In leaf color Create a magic ring and chain 1 (Half double crochet, chain 4, single crochet into the second chain from hook and the next two chains) repeat until you have your desired amount of leaves. I prefer 7 leaves. Slip stitch to the first half double crochet Pull magic ring closed and cut a long tail for sewing Weave in the end for your magic ring and use the long tail to sew the leaves on the strawberry Attach your keychain if desired and you are done :) Find me on Instagram and TikTok at Phoenixpwcrafting!
