Another String Quartet in what I would call the Romantic (19th century) style. I was thinking in terms of shapes and textures, with respect for traditional harmony but no shyness about breaking the rules, now and then. I especially like the re-introduction of the opening theme in traditional 4 part morphing into something almost modern when the repeated dotted quarter note accompaniment is extended with non-traditional elements.
