⚡ Day 11: Change Azure VM Size Using Console | 100 Days of Cloud (Azure) Welcome to Day 11 of the 100 Days of Cloud (Azure) series! In this lab, you’ll scale a virtual machine to handle increased workload—an essential cloud operation. 📌 Lab Objective: Resize an existing Azure VM to a higher compute size. 🛠️ Task Requirements: VM Name: nautilus-vm Region: westus Change size: From: Standard_B1s To: Standard_B2s Ensure VM is Running after resize 💻 Step-by-Step (Azure Portal): 🔹 1. Login to Azure Portal Go to 👉 https://portal.azure.com Login using provided credentials 🔹 2. Select Correct Region 👉 Make sure you're working in westus 🔹 3. Navigate to Virtual Machine Go to Virtual Machines Select nautilus-vm 🔹 4. Stop the VM (if required) 👉 Click Stop (Deallocate) ⚠️ Some sizes require VM to be stopped before resizing 🔹 5. Change VM Size Click Size from left menu Select Standard_B2s Click Resize 🔹 6. Start the VM Go back to Overview Click Start 🔹 7. Verify Status Ensure: VM Size = Standard_B2s Status = Running ✅ Expected Outcome: VM successfully resized Increased CPU/RAM available VM is running normally 📚 What You’ll Learn: Azure VM scaling When to stop/deallocate VMs Resource optimization Managing compute resources in Azure 🌟 Why This Lab Matters: Scaling VMs ensures your applications handle growing workloads efficiently without downtime or performance issues. 🎯 Series: 100 Days of Cloud (Azure) Build real-world Azure skills step by step. 🔔 Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more tutorials from OtterTech! #Azure #VirtualMachine #CloudComputing #Scaling #DevOps #MicrosoftAzure #CloudInfrastructure #100DaysOfCloud #OtterTech #Day11
