Do you have troublesome debris or garden waste to reallocate as a dead hedge? Sticks and cut down hedge is what I'm using today, which is fairly standard. Be careful not to use anything which will kill the process of a new hedge rising. In my own garden there is Cherry Laurel and is poisonous to flora.
