Decompression Valve Replacement
This video shows how to replace the decompression valve on the ABRA Sandmaster Pro. You typically won't do this often, but replace the valve if it is leaking, damaged, not venting correctly, or if connected hoses show wear or failure. Process overview: Start by removing the two blue air hoses from the top and bottom, and note where each hose connects. Loosen the hose clamp with a flathead screwdriver, slide it back, and remove the black blasting hose from the barb fitting. Unthread the decompression valve by turning it counterclockwise until it is entirely removed. Before installing the new valve, apply thread sealant or Teflon tape to the threads. Thread the new valve into the fitting by hand until snug, then finish tightening with a pipe wrench. Reattach the blue hoses and snug them down. Reinstall the black hose on the barb fitting, slide the clamp back into position, and tighten it securely. Safety: Power off the machine and relieve air pressure before removing hoses or the valve. Tools: Flathead screwdriver, pipe wrench, thread sealant or Teflon tape.
