Salty water is more dense than fresh water. Place them into a long container and separate them with a partition. Pull the partition and see what happens! Lighter (less dense) fresh water will rise to the top and the heavier (more dense) salt water will sink to the bottom. In this demo the fresh water was colored red and the salt water was colored blue to make each more visible.
