Devotional: Genesis 12:11-13
What happens when fear shows up after you’ve already taken a step of faith? In Genesis 12:11–13, we see a side of Abram that feels deeply familiar. After responding to God with bold obedience, leaving everything behind to follow Him, fear begins to creep in. Faced with uncertainty, pressure, and real danger, Abram shifts from trusting God to relying on his own strategy. In this message, we explore the tension between faith and fear. How someone can take a powerful step of obedience and still struggle to trust God in the next moment. Abram’s story reminds us that faith is not a straight line. It is a journey marked by both trust and missteps. This is not a story of failure, but of honesty. The heroes of Scripture were not perfect. They were people learning to trust a faithful God. And even when fear redirected Abram, God did not abandon him. You will be encouraged to see that your moments of fear do not disqualify you from a life of faith. God remains steady, even when we are not. In this video: • How fear can follow even our greatest steps of faith • Why Abram turned to his own plan instead of trusting God • What this story reveals about the reality of spiritual growth • How God remains faithful when we lose our footing If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs to be reminded that faith is a journey, and God is faithful every step of the way. #Genesis #Faith #TrustGod #Grace #BibleTeaching #ChristianLife #Jesus
