Not as common as the major or minor triads, but diminished triads can be used both as an interesting special effect or a way of connecting a series of triads.
You can build a diminished triad by stacking two minor thirds.
Alternatively just choose a note, count up three notes, play this note, count up three notes and play that note - then you've got your diminished triad!
