A lot of AutoCAD users do not realize that all dimensions placed with the DIMLINEAR command are actually rotated dimension. The two default angles are 0 (horizontal to the current coordinate system) or 90 (vertical to the current coordinate system.) Because of that, users often force a correct dimension by using DIMALIGNED, but you can't always select the points that need to be extended for the dimension to be the correct distance. This video shows how to place dimensions correctly when the dimension is at an angle other than 0 or 90.
