A lot of AutoCAD users do not realize that all dimensions placed with the DIMLINEAR command are actually rotated dimension. The two default angles are 0 (horizontal to the current coordinate system) or 90 (vertical to the current coordinate system.) Because of that, users often force a correct dimension by using DIMALIGNED, but you can't always select the points that need to be extended for the dimension to be the correct distance.
