Discovering St. Augustine, Florida
There are few places in the United States that can boast more history than St. Augustine, Florida. The past gives visitors many options for things to see and do, but there are plenty of other fun diversions that have nothing to do with what happened long ago. I recently spent a few hours in the city and thoroughly enjoyed my time. Come along to see what I discovered! 0:00 - Introduction 1:03 - Castillo de San Marcos 2:54 - City Gate 3:31 - Colonial Quarter 4:51 - Flagler College 6:02 - Hotel Alcazar 6:43 - Matanzas Bay 7:12 - Bridge of Lions 8:15 - St. Augustine Lighthouse 8:35 - Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine 9:22 - Our Lady of La Leche Shrine 10:06 - Plaza de la Constitucion 11:01 - Government House 11:25 - St. George Street 12:20 - Old Town 13:12 - Visitor Information Center 13:38 - Old Town Trolley Tours 14:02 - Dog Rose Brewing Company 14:31 - Conclusion Music provided by Epidemic Sound. Having retired in 2023, I now travel full-time, seeing places all around the world. My idea for YouTube is to make the videos more about the places and people along the way, than about me. I hope that the experience for you is both entertaining and educational. Perhaps you will come away from my channel with ideas about places you would like to visit or be inspired to forge your own way. I travel slowly, spending four or five weeks in each destination. Hopefully, that will allow me to go beyond the surface to find the essence of each location. By the end of 2024, I will have visited 14 countries and five of the seven continents. Come along for the journey!
