Divide a Line Into Equal Segments (Ruler + Square)

So there are a lot of videos showing basically this technique, but not exactly. They all seem to make it way more complicated than in needs to be. I'm sure the techniques have their merit, but I find this method to be way easier and straight forward. Regardless of the length of your line, and the number of equal segments you want to divide it into, as long as you have a measuring device with whole units that are larger than however big your segments will be, it's as easy as angling* the ruler. (*Yes the thumbnail sans "no angles, I mean the angle doesn't mater, you don't kneed to know what it is. Also is "angling" a word? It means 'fishing' but like, angling, they were parking on an angle, they were angling their car into the spot... yes, no? lol ) On one end of your line, draw another line at 90°. Then put 0 on your ruler at the opposite line, and begin angling it upwards. If you are dividing your line into 7 segments, angle the ruler until the 7 mark intersects the 90° reference line. Make ticks at 6,5,4,3,2,&1 and then connect those ticks to your main line, using a square. And that's it. It's also super useful for fading the center of something. Say you have a board that is 5 5/16 inches. Just angle a ruler so that zero is on one edge and 6 is on the other, and make your tick at 3 and that is your center!
