Doom 2 Sunlust map 28 UVmax
I have been playing this map for quite a bit of time and only recently did i discover that the player is probably meant to get the blue key first and then return to the yellow key island and use the the blue key on the left hand side wall to create room and better fight the imps, instead of plowing straight through them using the rocket launcher. However i did what i saw other people do, no realizing that was a speedrunning strat, one i couldn't get right for a long time btw. A lot of people use an archvilej ump to get the megasphere early.I'm not good at those, so i could not meaningfuly implement the megasphere pick up in this run. When i obtained it, i didn't really need it anymore, but i had to tag that secret. The cavern fight is really difficult- my main priority is to have the corners that originally house the HKs and the cybers clear and at least one of the cybers should be dead by the time the revs/archies spawn in 30 seconds after. It doesn't even matter if i'm on the correct side of the cavern when it happens, having a safe spot to stage a temporary defense before starting circling around the arena while possibly picking up the soul spheres is all that matters. Of course, i suppose that if you're consistently able to get the viles early, all the better for you. I just can't get the timing right. Either that or i just end up on the wrong side every other time. Skill issue i guess. The finale is actually even trickier for me, at least if one goes for the fancy 3 switch press and triggers all waves at once. I had to watch others runners many times until i finally got this right - no way i would ever figure this out on my own. I still almost managed to get myself killed at one point but i got incredibly lucky. Anyway, by my personal standards close to 14 minutes is something i can be happy about.
