Downpour
This one came from trying to picture what my own grief actually looks like. Not as a feeling… but as a place. Something physical I could relate to and see in my head. For me, it turned into this small, one-room shack; barely held together, somewhere in the middle of a storm that doesn’t stop. At first it’s manageable. Just a few drops getting in. Something it feels like you can ignore… or patch over. But the longer you sit in it, the more it builds. The leaks spread. The sound gets louder. The space gets smaller. And eventually it stops feeling like you're weathering out the rain, and more like treading water in the ocean. That’s what this track is. Not just sadness— but that heavy, lingering kind that sucks you down like an undertow. It loops, and circles back. keeps you inside your own head longer than you want to be there. The worst part isn’t even the storm. It’s realizing you’ve been living in it. And that question at the end, “What did you forget?” feels less like curiosity, and more like some urgent tugging at the back of your mind. Something blurry and lost, but you're sure if you could find it, it would solve all your problems. AI DISCLAIMER: I wrote the lyrics and decided what genre, vibe, instruments and sounds I wanted to have, then used AI as a tool to actually bring it to life so I could share it. This is what that collaboration sounds like when it’s done well and with a lot of human input and thought.
