This is the first video in a series about the External Bus Interface (EBI) system on the ATxmega128A1U (XMEGA) microcontroller. In this video, Chris motivates the need for the EBI system by exploring a couple ways to interface multiple DIP switches to the XMEGA, analyzing the trade-offs between each.
Ultimately, without the External Bus Interface, interfacing with external hardware can become cumbersome for a designer and programmer of a system.
