Electronic Slime

"Electronic Slime" is a decompression interactive device that can be played by gestures. It is made with Leap Motion gesture sensor and TouchDesigner software. As long as the user waves his hands in the air, the electronic slime on the screen will change according to the gesture, which can be deformed, flow, and automatically restored. This project would like to discuss a question: Do I have to touch the physical object with my own hands to decompress? Although the real slime feels real, most of them contain unsafe chemical ingredients, which are easy to get dirty and will break after a long time of use. And this virtual slime is very clean and can be reused unlimitedly, avoiding various safety and wear problems of physical materials. It is not to do better than the real slime, but to change the way of decompression. Don't rely on touch and feel, just rely on gestures to interact. This method is very suitable for two types of people: those who don't like sticky touch, and those who need to share decompression devices in public. This project is not to replace the real slime, but to explore a new direction: how can the decompression experience become without touching?
