Merry Christmas everyone! This is the element of fire. I decided to go with a kind of EDM-esque vibe for this one, since fire seems like it should be rhythmic and intense. The scale used was the 3L5s scale of 48 EDO. This scale has 3 augmented seconds in it, making it a "triple harmonic" scale. It is one of 3 MOS scales that can be called "triple harmonic," the other 2 being 3L3s (the augmented scale) and 3L4s. If the ratio of L to s is correct, any one of these MOS's can give a triple harmonic scale.
I actually only used Zebra for this track, but it was all I needed to give me everything. The conga drums, which I used as a kick, were made by experimenting with the comb filter of Zebra, which is actually a nice module for physical modelling of various kinds.
By the way, can anyone in the comments identify the "genre" of this song? I used EDM-like sounds and techniques (including a decent amount of sidechain ducking), but I'm unsure what specific genre this counts as. It doesn't really matter, but I'm a bit curious.
