Elevator Firefigher (Phase II) Operation - Otis Elevator

This is an Otis elevator being operated in Phase II firefighter's mode after elevator recall was activated with an elevator lobby smoke detector. Phase II operation is used with the fire service keyswitch inside the elevator car, and can only be used after elevator recall is activated with a smoke detector or the ground floor fire service switch. Phase II is very similar to independent service. Note how the Door Open and Door Close buttons must be manually pushed in AND held for the doors to operate. This is a safety feature to firefighters, so that if the door is opened and fire or other dangerous conditions enter the elevator, the button can be released and the doors close immediately.
