Endgame

As Grace explores deeper levels of the facility, she uncovers logs revealing the Pursuer was once a human test subject engineered to adapt and regenerate after every injury. Realizing conventional weapons cannot kill it permanently, she activates an abandoned industrial reactor hidden beneath the laboratory. The final encounter takes place in a massive underground furnace chamber illuminated by emergency red lighting and molten waste channels. During the boss fight, Grace uses the environment instead of brute force — luring the creature into overheating machinery while avoiding its increasingly mutated forms. The Pursuer slowly loses control of its regeneration, violently mutating as the chamber collapses around them. In the climax, Grace traps it beneath a reactor conduit and overloads the system, burning the creature alive while the entire underground facility begins to self-destruct. The chapter ends with Grace barely escaping to the surface through an emergency lift, exhausted and injured, while the underground erupts behind her. Killing the Pursuer marks the first major victory in the game and transforms Grace from a terrified survivor into someone capable of confronting the horrors behind the outbreak directly.
