In Satkhira district, water logging often leads to an inundation of schools and their connected roads, making it difficult or impossible for the children to reach them. During cyclones these schools are additionally used as shelters which causes another disturbance in the normal school management process.
HELVETAS Bangladesh together with the local partner organisation Uttaran started the project “Strengthening Disaster Resilience at Schools” to enhance the coping capacities and resilience of the community towards disaster.
