He started as one of a wave of gimmicky Batman villains, fell into obscurity for years because he didn't fit into the campy tone of 1960s DC Comics, before being revived in the 1970s to quickly become one of the most important characters in the rogues gallery of the Dark Knight. Two-Face ticks all the boxes for a great Batman villain, with a fall from grace, friend to foe transition, a psychopaty that hides layers of complexity and even a link to the origins of most of the Robins. He has been reformed multiple times only to slide back into old habits, and still is able to play ally on occasion. Like his coin, we never know where Harvey Dent is going to land.
