In this video we solve a problem dealing with Freon (R-134a). It is a common refrigerant used in many commercial refrigeration systems. The key skill to solve problems like this is to be able to tell whether a state is superheated or a saturated mixture. I will walk you through this in detail with the tables, but the long and short of it is that if one of your properties is outside the bounds set between a saturated liquid and a saturated vapor then it has to be compressed or superheated. This is how you can place yourself on process diagrams and get a leg up on these problems.
