🇬🇧 Executable Architectures for Embedded Systems

𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 A short time to market is one of the most important requirements for embedded systems projects. A good architectural approach is crucial for both quality and development speed. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬? We first give a brief overview of the most important aspects of software architecture for embedded systems. In addition, we will discuss how these can be described with the open source tool eTrice using the Real-Time Object-Oriented Modeling (ROOM) method. The talk will be rounded off with a live demo and a practical example of an executable architecture. For this purpose we show architecture adaptations on a running prototype for a small embedded system. The open source tool eTrice is used for this purpose.
