Double gyroid structures are comprised of two separate, interwoven networks that are both continuous in 3 dimensions. These networks are typically comprised of interconnected nodes, each with three connecting struts. This node, with 4 struts instead of the typical 3, is a defect in the double gyroid block copolymer structure.
