Designed by Robert Francis Fairlie in 1864 as a go-anywhere do-anything locomotive, the Double Fairlie is an iconic piece of engineering, and thanks to the exploits of 'Little Wonder' on the Ffestiniog Railway in 1870, one uniquely associated with North Wales. Happy [belated] St David's Day everyone.
