Feeding Baby Squirrels 😍

These two female squirrels started their lives covered in hydraulic fluid and orphaned. We tried to get them reunited with moms, but were unsuccessful. These are two of ten babies in more than one nest that was made in work trucks. They were given to me by one of my mentors to do my first rescue work. Now they are getting their care from me, their human surrogate. It is not easy, especially round-the-clock feedings. But it is a joy to be giving them a chance to thrive after a tough start. I am a wildlife rehabilitator, and our responsibility is to rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned animals and then return them to the wild. My girls, who I have named Pinky and Julia (for any Pinky and the Brain fans, you will know why), will be living their best squirrel life!
