Modifying a hardened splined gear for one of the Kiddo's at work. Well a friend of one anyway. This particular car head is installing a new Orion 4:1 transfer case in his Toyota FJ40 landcruiser in order to lower overall crawl ratio from 79:1 to 149:1 Vehicle specs. Vehicle: 1969 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. Engine: Stock straight 6 Transmission: Muncie SM420 out of a 1964-67 GM Truck. It has a granny low 7.05:1 first gear Transfer case adapter plate: Warden's 3/4" plate adapter Transfer Case: Advanced Adapter(AA), Orion 4.0:1 low range (https://www.advanceadapters.com/5005) OEM has a 2.12:1 ratio.
