🌟 FLEET FRIDAY 🌟 FDNY COMMAND TACTICAL 3 ~ ROBOTICS SUMMER UNIT

The FDNY Robotics Summer Unit aka Command Tactical 3 utilizes 3 UTVs two of them are 2024 John Deere and the third is being loaned by SOC which is a 2015 John Deere. They are staffed during the Summer months from Mid May to Mid September. One Hour Before & After Lifeguards covering Rockaway Beach in Queens. Staffed with 5 Firefighters & 1 Officer. 2 of the firefighters are Water Rescue Swimmers and the other 3 are Drone Pilots. The Life Safety mission is to fly drones on the shore line of Rockaway Beach looking overhead for swimmers in distress, Rip Tides, Rip Currents, Unsafe Conditions like shark watch and providing CFRD & First Aide on the Beach. NYPD & OEM also have drones covering Rockaway Beach and other NYC Beaches but FDNY is the only ones with Rescue Swimmers. FDNY Operates 3 Drones, 2 Water Rescue Swimmers and 1 Officer covering Rockaway Beach and may be assigned to any water rescue in the rockaways. The plan is to expand the FDNY Robotics Summer Units to Coney Island & Orchard Beach.
