Flow Arts at Vortex Open Source 2017
Vortex Open Source is an outdoor trance festival at the Circle of Dreams, Riviersonderend, Western Cape, South Africa. Over the years it has been growing into one of the coolest Flow Arts attractions of the year in South Africa. As he does every year since 2010-ish, Duncan took a large pile of toys, threw them on the ground, right next to the dance floor, and encouraged people to play with them. He then whipped out his camera so he could show guy guys what happened next ;) Many people brought their own toys too. The Flow DNA stall at Opensouce is also the chill area for flow artists (and also normal people) to hang out by the dance floor, and stash their fire props for the nighttime performances, which happen right next to the Flow DNA stall. Official performances include FireTribe, Connect and Flow, and Flow DNA, as well as guest performers, and after the scheduled fire shows each night, we open the fire floor to anyone who has proven themselves capable, and safe with fire in such an environment. This is a collection of some of the best shots we got of people spinning things at Open Source 2017. Featuring some of our favourite flow artists - mostly from South Africa. Sorry if we didn't get all the names in the credits. Filmed by Duncan Greenwood (and friends) Edited and mixed by Warren Barnard Music: Merkaba - Icarus E-Clip vs Sonic Species - TFC (Liftshift Remix) AudioFire - Haka Featuring props created by the following companies: Home of Poi, Flowtoys, Fiberflies, FireTribe, Moodhoops, Connect and Flow, and Flow DNA. (also probably others)
