Raking is the manual breakdown of large lumps formed in the product trolley of fluid bed dryer to ensure smooth fluidization.If large lumps are formed during the drying process it will hinder fluidization of wet mass in the drying chamber of the fluid bed dryer.
The break down of large lumps with the help of Hans or spatula in the fluid bed dryer is known as raking.
