Fragmented Bass
1st of February 2026 A sample of guitar and bass from my track Fragments. The guitar sound is a Mexican Strat with neck and middle pickup selected and a Fender 1965 Deluxe Reverb amp. I say amp, but it’s actually a digital simulation. We are living in the future now, you can download simulations of your favourite guitar amps and speaker cabinets, conjure up some wistful tones, recreate some iconic tones you love, it’s pretty cool and a little bit sad too. I blended the Fender 1965 Deluxe Reverb with an Orange Rockerverb 50. The Orange clean tone sounds a little dark and muddy but it blends with toppy Fender amps pretty well. There is a little bit more profane digital tone sorcery going on which I might disclose if anyone is curious. The bass sound is a Fender Bassman. I would have shared this sooner but I’ve been fighting a battle with some rogue frequencies. I spent hours faffing about with EQ and frequency analysers but it was all in vain. The bass might sound a little bit farty. This is a demo of a demo, it doesn’t really matter. I almost switched the main guitar amp to a Fender 1976 Silverface Twin Reverb to mitigate the fartiness, it sounds very lovely and ethereal but it didn’t cut through as well as the 1965 Deluxe Reverb. Here’s a link for the Silverface version: https://youtu.be/i0caeB7dlw0
