This tutorial is specially designed for beginners. You'll discover the essential features of the software and create your first project in no time. 1. Pad The Pad command is the primary tool for adding material (extrusion). Action: It takes a 2D sketch and pulls it into 3D space to create a solid body. Typical Use: Creating the base shape of an object (e.g., a cube from a square sketch). 2. Pocket The Pocket command is the primary tool for removing material (subtraction). Action: It takes a 2D sketch on a face and cuts into the object. Typical Use: Creating holes, indentations, or slots. 3. Mirror (Mirrored) The Mirrored command duplicates a feature (like a Pad, Pocket, or Fillet) symmetrically across a plane. Action: Instead of drawing the same feature twice on opposite sides, you create it once and "mirror" it. Requirement: You need a Mirror Plane (this can be a flat face of the object or a standard plane like the XZ or YZ plane). Typical Use: Creating left/right symmetry, like the two eyes on a robot face or matching holes on a bracket. Workbench Note: While "Pad" is a Part Design tool, Boolean operations are most commonly found in the Part workbench. In Part Design, tools like "Pocket" are essentially automated Boolean cuts. Common Use: Creating shafts, wheels, spheres, cones, or any "turned" part (lathe work).
