Generac Load Management Modules
Watch as Generac's Scott Shepherd highlights the Generac Load Management Modules. Generac Load Management Modules (Smart Management Modules or SMMs) prevent generator overloading by monitoring frequency and shedding up to 8 large 240V loads (50A or 100A) when necessary. They are wire-free, autonomous, and install easily, offering a cost-effective alternative to larger generators for whole-house power. - Load Shedding: Modules automatically disconnect large appliances if the generator becomes overloaded, protecting the system. - Priority Setting: Users can designate which loads receive power first during an outage (up to 8 modules per system). - Models: Available in 50-Amp (7000) and 100-Amp (7006) versions. - Compatibility: Compatible with most Generac home standby generators and transfer switches. - Installation: Designed for indoor or outdoor (NEMA 3R) installation, often at the electrical panel. - Lock-out Function: Can be set to prevent specific, non-critical loads from running on generator power, prioritizing essential items. - Additional Systems: For more advanced, integrated management, Generac also offers the PWRmanager for use with solar and battery storage systems.
